The little boy plucks up a wild flower
Holding its beauty, filling up with wonder
Slowly the boy plucks at a petal
To hold it and discover its center
He wonders how it sticks to the flower
The petal, and so he plucks another
Soon all the petals are lying torn at his feet
As he stands holding the center smelling sweet
Still trying to puzzle out its structure
He tears opens the flowers' center
Releasing a million threads to the wind
Fluttering around like a butterfly's wings
Yet he is not sure he understands it truly
So the boy sits himself down in the valley
And plucks.... another flower….
